Dr. Stavros K. Filippidis is an Informatics & Mathematics teacher and a postdoctoral researcher. He is very interested in artificial intelligence and machine learning, new educational technologies, free software development, Byzantine Church Music, and filmmaking.

He earned a PhD from the School of Informatics of the Faculty of Sciences (2008), an MSc in Medical Informatics (2002), a BSc (ptychio) from the School of Informatics of the Faculty of Sciences (2000), and a BSc (ptychio) from the School of Mathematics of the Faculty of Sciences (1996), all of them from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.

He has worked as an adjunct lecturer at the School of Informatics of the Faculty of Sciences (2010, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece), as an adjunct lecturer at the School of Philosophy and Education of the Faculty of Philosophy (2009, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece), as a laboratory collaborator at the Department of Informatics of the School of Technological Applications (2003-2008, Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki, Greece), as a laboratory collaborator at the Department of Logistics (2005-2006, Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki, Greece), and as a seconded high school teacher at the Department of Logistics (2006-2009, Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki, Greece).

He is a high school teacher of Informatics and Mathematics (2001-present), and since February 2023 he is the Informatics Education Consultant of Pieria (Greece). Additionally, since September 2023 he is a postdoctoral researcher in "Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Education" at the School of Informatics of the Faculty of Sciences of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.

He is married and he is the father of three children.
